COMMUNITY GARDENING OPPORTUNITIES IN PXV THIS SPRING
Would you like to get your hands in the dirt to make Phoenixville more beautiful and healthy?
There are opportunities we’d like you to know about. If you are interested, please give us your contact information and we’ll let you know when to start.
For example, do you know about the Reservoir Park Community Garden, one of Phoenixville’s best kept secrets? Located on the hill at the top of Franklin Street, it commands a gorgeous view of our town. At the moment it is almost fully subscribed, with about 30 beds, but it also has some common beds that need loving attention. We could use your help there! Give us your contact information and we’ll be in touch. Opening picnic is Sun May 19, 1-3PM.
Also, at Phoenixville Hospital Cancer Center, there are plans to build a Restorative Garden, since research shows that access to growing things enhances well-being and promotes health. We’ll need help to prepare the beds and put in the plants in the summer.
In addition, at Carah Medical Arts on Gay Street, there are herb gardens that will be cultivated very soon. Come learn about herbs and make new friends while beautifying the corner of Gay and Third Streets. First working group is Sat June 15, 1130AM. Join us!
Do you know of a public space that could use some cultivation? The Community Garden Working Group of Phoenixville Area Transition Community would love to have your input. We try to have monthly meetings to keep in touch and keep planning, so please join us!
